ARCHAEOLOGY

Housed in the Monumental Complex of Santa Caterina in Finalborgo, allows the visitor to discover, through archaeological finds, reconstructions and environmental scale models, the characteristics of Finale from prehistoric times until today. The Museum has also developed, with the Dipartment of Archaeological Heritage of Liguria, the project “Archeotrekking Finale”, a series of itineraries and guided tours to archaeological sites that are usually not accessible.

The Art Gallery, located in the antique Palazzo Gavotti, offers a route from the fourteenth century to the present day art with paintings, sculptures and ceramics. Among the works of art we recommend the extraordinary “Crucifixion” by Donato de ‘Bardi, unique in the panorama of Renaissance painting, the altarpiece by Vincenzo Foppa and the altarpieces of the age of Savona Popes Sixtus IV and Julius II. The seventeenth, eighteenth and nineteenth centuries are represented by paintings of the most important artists working in Liguria.
PALAZZO GAVOTTI – CERAMIC COLLECTIONS
The museum presents magnificent examples of local pottery production from the fifteenth to the twentieth century, from the ceramics of the Cinquecento to the works of the twentieth century artists including Locksmiths, Farfa, Jorn, Lam.

The Art Gallery displays works of the Foundation commissioned by the writer and artist from Savona Milena Milani. The collection offers a significant selection of the most important moments of international contemporary art with works by Arp, Campigli, Capogrossi, de Chirico, Delvaux, Dubuffet, Fontana, Jorn, Magritte, Miro, Picasso, Twombly.
DIOCESAN MUSEUM AND EARLY CHRISTIAN BAPTISTERY

Inside the old Episcopal Palace you will admire a collection of medieval tables and seventeenth-century paintings, including the Martyrdom of St. Catherine by Guido Reni and tapestries of the sixteenth century. The cathedral leads to the Baptistery, one of the most important early Christian monuments of northern Italy, built in the late Roman period, between fifth and sixth centurie.
